Our journey of faith may start when our parents bring us to be baptised as small babies. This is not true for everyone and we are able to offer baptism for anyone of any age who would like to make that first step of faith. For those bringing little ones to be baptised we hold a preparation evening the week before. For older children or adults the minister conducting the baptism usually makes a separate appointment.
As we grow and learn more we may wish to confirm those baptismal promises and come to confirmation. We offer confirmation classes for young people aged 11+ and for adults. Courses last around 12 weeks. We explore faith and learn more about living as a Christian and being part of the church in the 21st century.
The Church of England is open to all and you don’t have to be on a membership list to receive the support of the church family. However we do maintain an Electoral Roll for those aged 16+ . People on the electoral roll are able to take a more active part in the decision making process of the church.
If you would like to discuss any of the above, have a word with a member of the clergy team or one of the churchwardens. Bookings for baptisms (and marriages) can be made by contacting the Church Office on 01275-434417 between 09.00 a.m. and 1.00 p.m., Monday to Friday. |
